SHS Ranks 7th in the State for AP Scores
Reports Highest Test Passage Rate in the County
The percentage of SHS students with AP scores high enough to receive college credit increased
17%
over last year. Our passage rate was 81.8%, the highest in the county. Moreover, the school's passage rate ranked 7th in the state out of schools that administered over 100 tests. For more details, see the article on the
Spartanburg Herald Journal's
website.
Landon Cohen, a graduate of SHS, was drafted by the Detroit Lions. Cohen will attend a three-day mini-camp beginning Thursday and then return to Ohio University and finish his classes for the semester.
"I can't think of anyone else in the recent years out of Spartanburg High that deserves the opportunity to play in the NFL more than Landon," Vikings' athletic director Myles Wilson said. "He's been the prime example of work ethic and determination. He put everything to the side to get there."
